Catie joined Mitchell Banks after completing a clerkship in the Circuit Court for the City of Norfolk in 2017. Catie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English, cum laude, from Furman University and her law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law. She has been active in trial competitions since 2006, serving as both a participant and coach over the years. Catie has competed in over 140 trial competitions, served as a team captain for Furman University’s nationally ranked mock trial team, and has been recognized multiple times for her courtroom skills. As one of her former law school professors stated, Catie was “born to be in the courtroom.” When not practicing law, Catie enjoys reading, writing, traveling, and rock climbing. She also enjoys combining her passions for law and education by volunteering in a wide variety of activities which focus on law, civics, and public speaking including serving on the board of directors for the Virginia Law Related Education Institute, a nonprofit organization.
